Support Housing Justice

There is a nationwide housing crisis, and San Francisco has developed a reputation as one of the most expensive cities in the country. Low income communities have been priced out and displaced, often with no place to go after eviction from rent controlled units. We are building a multiracial, multilingual movement of tenants who are equipped to challenge the real estate industry and the financialization of land and housing, but we can’t do it without you.

Your support is critical in helping us build this tenant power movement.

We are best equipped to win when we are funded by our base, and that means you! Make a contribution today, and consider joining us as a monthly tenant power supporter.

“We define organizing as building relationships and institutions to sustain community power, and it follows that fundraising is organizing. Connecting organizing and fundraising allows those affected by the work of an organization to determine its course. The revolution will not be funded.”

— Marisa Franco, Co-Founder of Mijente

The Housing Rights Committee has been fighting evictions, advocating for tenant’s rights, and building tenant power across our city since 1979. We are fighting the displacement crisis by building a multiracial, multilingual movement of tenants who are able to take on the real estate industry and the financialization of land and housing.

Help us fight for housing justice and build a movement of tenants who are united together with their neighbors. We’re best equipped to win when we are funded by our base, and that means you! If you’re able, please consider making a monthly contribution–this long term stable support means a lot to us as we continue to build together.
