On July 6th, San Francisco housing advocates (including Housing Rights Committee), and public housing and Section 8 tenants joined the National Day of Action against the current administration’s proposed $6.8 billion in cuts to HUD. Along with 25 other cities across the country, protesters in San Francisco demanded #NoHUDCuts and #Homes4All because there is a national housing crisis. They called on Senator Kamala Harris, who sits on the Budget Committee, to push as hard as she can against the projected $6.8 billion in cuts, against raising rents on folks who live in public housing, and against the 250K in cuts to section 8 vouchers.
